Unraveling Control, Empowering Change.
For Survivors, by a Survivor.
LO Chandler
(She/Her)
LO is a survivor of the highs and lows of coercive control, with lived experience across a variety of contexts: family systems, academia, cults, domestic abuse, communities and subcultures. Her work is grounded in both personal insight and formal study, blending sociology, psychology, and trauma-informed care to support others navigating complex power dynamics.
Neurodivergent, queer, and polyamorous, Lo understands the challenge of moving through a world shaped by control, conformity, and top-down power structures. As a bottom-up thinker, she brings a unique lens to the subtle dynamics of coercion and survival. A lifelong student of power, Lo weaves together lived experience and formal study—including her work as a Kink and BDSM educator, where she deepened her understanding of consent, autonomy, and relational power. Her current research focuses on traumatic repetition across high-control contexts, informed by decades of inquiry into manipulation, domination, and recovery.
Before founding High Control Los in 2022, Lo spent over 20 years in veterinary medicine, where she developed a deep fluency in the body’s unspoken language. In that work, she learned to read the silent language of suffering—the body’s expression of control and power abuse. Today, as a Somatic Internal Family Systems™ and Brainspotting practitioner, she helps clients untangle internalized control with nervous system awareness, body-based insight, and radical compassion.
